      Rafinat Yarullin will make a report “The new water-base polymers based on acrylic acids”


      Up to date the large-scale application of super-absorbents – polymeric and co-acrilamide polymers water-base materials has been given over the world. For this purpose, the polymers with the high hydrophilic-activity, for the instance, co-polymers of the acrilamides with acrylic acid, that macro-moleculas are rarely chemically cross-linked bonded. These polymers are water-insoluble, but they are solvent-swollen polymers, that are available to absorb and contain the liquid volume in 500-1000 times exceed the dry polymer mass (water-molecular penetrated gels).


      At the moment, the super-absorbent on the base of acrylic acid and the extinguishing agent with the additive of this super-absorbent was created on the base of the JSC “ Tatneftekhiminvest-Holding” on the consultancy support of JSC “Acrylat”, JSC “NII Neftepromchim”, KSTU, OJSC “Singer”. The polymers were produced on the production sites. The extinguishing agent with the additive of the super-absorbent agent assumes the properties of “sticking effect” for the surface both to the burning area and fire-retardant treatment surface, isolating OX, blocking the running-off process of the burning or protected surface.


      There were done the full-scaled pilot treatments on the fire-proving grounds. The results of the treatments show that the extinguishing agents with the mentioned additive are able to increase extinguishing activity water flow to extinguish source of fire with the use of 0.3% polymer in 2 times less than with no polymer.


      The super-absorbent is used in agriculture. This product increases the moisture-holding capacity during the several years, the frequency of irrigation can be reduced by 50%, reduces losses of the water and nutrients due to leaching and reduces of the water evaporation from the soil, improves the physical properties of the firm soils, increases aeration, increases a plant growth, water and nutrients are generally available to the root zone of the optimal absorption by the plants.
